Happy Birthday Little Brother! =D 08/23/2010
So my younger brother Kevin turned 18 years old on August 19th...they grow up soooo fast. It was more than just a birthday taking him onto adulthood, it was also the start of a new life for him. To say the whole family is proud of him isn't enough. But this last birthday he spent here was special because we all had a message for him to take with him since he's going to Harvard. Yes Harvard, the best University in the world, that one. He's a smart kid, and I'm sure glad he didn't look up to me...haha [awkward smile]. You don't need to be 18 for me to know you're a responsible young adult. I'm proud of you, and I can't wait to enjoy this Boston trip with you. I'm writing this from Boston, after the 2nd night here. So I can't wait to enjoy the rest of it. I love you Kevin. Bad Luck on the way back from Vegas... =| 08/23/2010
Flat Tire in a hot desert 3 hours away from home...freaking city of Baker...long story short, it was 11:45PM and I was going around 70 miles an hour, not even speeding, and the back left tire peeled off. The car spun in the freeway and I lost control of it. I survived purely out of luck, although I consider myself really blessed, not lucky. I managed to get out of harms way without hitting another car (although many honked and I saw at least two swerve out of the way). Thank baby Jesus I didn't damage the car either, aside from the lame tire. I was 6 miles away from the nearest exit...ugh...but luckily the tire was still fully in place and not popped. Some of its exterior had peeled off, but it was drivable. So at 5-15mph I got to the exit around 12:20ish AM...the first exit I take that exits onto the city of Baker, Population Count: 20 People...is a Tire & Towing 24 hour repair shop. Win! Not really...I call them, and the lady on the phone was nice. But the guy who showed up was a D**K. He had no customer service skills whatsoever, and he did not help especially after my near death experience. The dude was trying to charge me $190 for a tire. He was fucking crazy! For those of you who don't know about tires (I was one of you until this incident), this is a fucking rip off. He was obviously taking advantage of a chump who didn't know what's up because it was technically after hours for the guy. Fail...I said fuck it cause I didn't want to spend all that money on a lame tire. Take in mind, I'm not driving my car, I'm driving my friend Juan's truck...so I call him, and he tells me to just change it to the spare, that he's sure I can make it back on that and then he'll figure out the tire situation when I got back. So there I was parked stranded in some nowhere gas station with nothing but creepy ass white people, the kind you see in movies where zombies come out and shit. Or vampires. But I imagine there aren't too many vampires in the desert since the sun is out all the time, and they would be all glittery and stuff. I must have looked like such a snob trying to figure out how to change that tire. I had changed one tire before this incident in my life, but there was someone present to help me and show me what to do. Where's Jose Leyva when you need him? haha Anywho, it's as if God had seen me and felt bad for me and was nice to send these very kind people who were like angels to me, heros if you will. They not only helped change the tire for me, they did it for me. Thank you kind people from Riverside<3 The rest of the night didn't go too great either, I got pulled over by a cop for driving slow, and I got home around 5AM. You do the math...ugh...This was definitely as close to a near death experience as I've ever had. Life changing moment for me because I really thought I wouldn't make it, and I'm grateful I did. And for those of you that read all of this, thank you, I love you<3 At least Vegas was fun =) PS The next day, we got a tire for $40, 24 Hour Tire & Towing Shop right off the Baker exit on the 215 Freeway South, you can suck it. Came over this month. It was a lot of fun having them here, and I'm going to miss them now that they are gone. I of course took them out and did a lot of the tourist like things there are to do around LA and they had a good time...at least I think they did...and no LA trip would be complete without some dope pictures...haha After this...I was off to Vegas =) Artsy Fartsy n_n 08/15/2010
Talk about an awesome art show! It was an epic night full of awesomeness. I got to meet Macy Gray, James Worthy (James motherfuckin Worthy!), and Ron Artest (are you kidding me?). It was bananas! Macy Gray tried to bum a cigarette off me and I straight up said, "I don't smoke." And I thought to myself, you're Macy Gray and you're trying to bum cigarettes off of people...? haha I had a good time, even though my head hurt because of the crazy amount of hot girls at the event. Too many...! Haha, overall a very good night. Congratulations to the homie Rick and I wish you nothing but the best, I know your path will be full of success. (See what I did there with the rhymes?) Your work is dope as fudge sir ^_^ Can't wait for another art show of this caliber...Please go to Rick's website and check out his clothes, it's freaking dope and well worth it! Just go to www.savethepanduhs.com and tell him I sent you ;) Half Way Through The Month...! 08/15/2010
And a lot of things have happened...like whoa! Too much at a time, but that's how life is and will continue to be. I'm just glad and grateful to be alive, and healthy. So many changes have occurred and I'm just waiting for everything to fall in place. Life should be very interesting come September n_n Can't wait! More updates to come soon, I promise. I will try to get back to at least one blog post a day, at least...haha Incinerated! 08/01/2010
